How to remove new folder exe or regsvr exe or autorun inf virus

1. Last week I came across a virus with new folder.exe and regsrv.exe and autorun.inf. I was searching for suitable solution for autorun.inf but I didnt get any proper solution for long time but Today I found a USB virus removal tool which is quit effective. This will help to remove above said virus .Click here to find the Download
2. Here is one more method I am going to tell you this is manual process. Follow this process if you can't remove using above tool. In most of the case this virus will disable regedit and task manager.  I am also going to tell you how to enable REGEDIT and TASKMANGER . To enable regedit just Click Start, Run and type this command HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f    To enable task manager Click Start, Run and type this command REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
   1. Search for autorun.inf file. It is a read only file so you will have to change it to normal by right clicking the file , selecting the properties and un-check the read only option
   2. Open the file in notepad and delete everything and save the file.
   3. Now change the file status back to read only mode so that the virus could not get access again.
   4. 
   5. Click start->run and type msconfig and click ok
   6. Go to startup tab look for regsvr and uncheck the option click OK.
   7. Click on Exit without Restart, cause there are still few things we need to do before we can restart the PC.
   8. Now go to control panel -> scheduled tasks, and delete the At1 task listed their.

   1. Click on start->search->for files and folders.
   2. Their click all files and folders
   3. Type “*.exe” as filename to search for
   4. Click on ‘when was it modified ‘ option and select the specify date option
   5. Type from date as 1/31/2008 and also type To date as 1/31/2008
   6. 
   7. Now hit search and wait for all the exe’s to show up.
   8. Once search is over select all the exe files and shift+delete the files, caution must be taken so that you don’t delete the legitimate exe file that you have installed on 31^st January.
   9. Also selecting lot of files together might make your computer unresponsive so delete them in small bunches.
   10. Also find and delete regsvr.exe, svchost .exe( notice an extra space between the svchost and .exe)
4. Time For Celebrations
   1. Now do a cold reboot (ie press the reboot button instead) and you are done.

First First, make sure you download Resource Hacker. You'll need this puppy to edit resources in your Windows shell.

2. Locate explorer.exe in the C: \ Windows. Make a copy of the file in the same directory and rename explorer.bak.

3. Now launch Resource Hacker. On the File menu, open explorer.exe. Now you'll see a bunch of folders collapsed.

4. Expand the String Table folder and then find folder No. 37 (folder No. 38 if you're in Windows Classic mode).

5. Click on resource 1033 and locate the text that says "Start." This is the Start button, and now you have to control what he says! Change the text "Start" in the text box. You do not need the number of characters, but the text is taking up valuable space on the taskbar, so you do not do it for too long.

6. Click Compile Script. This updates the settings for the Start button. But nothing will happen until the completion of step # 20, so go ahead!

8. Right now it says "Click here to start." Well, duh! We already know that is where to begin!

19. When prompted, make sure you're in the right directory, type "cd c: \ windows" (without the quotes).

20. Now type "copy c: \ windows \ newstartbutton.exe c: \ windows \ explorer.exe" (no quotes). "Yes" (without quotes) to overwrite the existing file, then restart the system by typing "shutdown-r" (no quotes).

When  Windows relaunches, see the Start button again in all its splendor
